But while Bramham Park in Leeds is a relatively remote site, Little John's Farm is close to residential Reading and is subject to very strict noise licensing conditions. SSE Audio Group has enjoyed a long relationship with the festival as its principal audio provider since and once again SSE Hire was contracted as the main stage audio supplier for the event. SSE Project Managers Miles Hillyard and Dan Bennett were tasked with designing the audio system for the event and they were determined to refine the design to ensure it would deliver the best possible sound. This means not only meeting the licensing restrictions, but also delivering a quality sound to the audience on site. The Reading site is located close to the town centre and is bordered by residential housing - an unlikely location for an event of this type if it did not have its historical legacy.

Helicotrema Open call is now closed. We are grateful to all the authors for the numerous submissions. We will publish the results at the end of August. Helicotrema — Recorded Audio Festival announces a new open call for recorded audio works. Helicotrema 9 will take place at the end of September and will present a programme of listening sessions for residents of the district and visitors. The Helicotrema 9 open call is an invitation for artists and authors to submit an audio work to be presented in the context of an open-air listening session within the pitch La Fratellanza In this context the festival will use a loudspeaker system for sports events, excellent on voice frequencies, and a mobile system in quadriphony for compositions with wider spectra of frequencies. The location, one of the most important athletics stadiums at national level, can be a clue for inspiring the authors to propose sound research that reflects on body, competition, exercise. At the same time the festival remains open also to contributions on other subjects.
